The History of the HOUSE Armand de brignac

The 12th and 13th generations of winemakers, Jean-Jacques Cattier and his son, Alexandre, are the craftsmen behind Armand de Brignac's prestige cuvées. Their ambition was to create an exceptional champagne that would represent the excellence of the Champagne region, where the family has been producing wines for over 250 years.

About the History ...

Respect for the environment is at the heart of the management of the Cattier vineyards, which are HVE level 3 certified, representing the highest environmental certification issued by the French Ministry of Agriculture, in terms of sustainable, reasoned farming care, to protect future generations.

Each year, they select the parcel of grapes with the most remarkable character that Mother Nature can give, whatever the variety.

The selection of grapes is guided by the Cattier family's 250 years of intimate knowledge of the mosaic of vineyards in Champagne.

The selection of the very first and freshest portions of the cuvée press to produce the best possible champagnes is a hallmark of Armand de Brignac. Intense selectivity and meticulous attention to detail ensure that the fruit is bursting with vibrant character, with a soft texture and balanced acidity.

The blend of a trio of vintages is unique and representative of Champagne Armand de Brignac. Each blend brings the unique characters of three distinct harvests, while maintaining a powerful lineage from one blend to the next.

Each bottle of Armand de Brignac Champagne is finished with a unique dosage, which includes the finest wine base from the harvest, matured for a year in new French oak. This winemaking touch offers a subtle complexity to the finished cuvées, introducing hints of pastry, vanilla and toast.
